Dan, a melancholic middle-aged construction worker grieving a family tragedy, finds himself cut off from his devoted wife Sharon and troubled daughter Daisy. While moonlighting in a low-rent local production of Romeo and Juliet, Dan is forced to confront his buried emotions and finds comfort in a misfit company of amateur actors.
