Carl’s life runs like clockwork as he delivers books to loyal customers. He knows their preferences and takes great pride in selecting the perfect story. His well-ordered life is turned upside down when cheerful nine-year-old, Schascha, decides to join him but when Carl unexpectedly loses his job, it is Schascha who helps him piece his life back together.
