THEATRE 180 presents another powerful fusion of live theatre and cinema with THE LIGHTHOUSE GIRL SAGA.

Once again using the immediacy of theatre with the visual impact of cinema, the third production in the popular and award-winning CinePlay genre, THE LIGHTHOUSE GIRL SAGA takes the format of staging live theatre in cinemas even further.

Bold and striking visuals, evocative sound and innovative staging transports the audience with the First AIF convoy as it embarks from King George Sound and farewells Australia from the beacon of the lighthouse at Breaksea Island, to the hell of Gallipoli, the mud in the trenches at the Western Front, a nurse’s compassion in rural England and peaceful horizons in country Victoria.

Journey with Fay, Charlie, Jim, Rose (and Sandy, the only warhorse to return to Australia of the 136,000 sent to war) across seas and through the mire of war as their intersecting stories culminate in the forging of the ANZAC spirit and a love that conquers all.

A bold adaptation by two of WA’s leading and award-winning playwrights, Jenny Davis OAM and Hellie Turner.

This epic production blends four award-winning novels by West Australian writer, Dianne Wolfer: Lighthouse GirlLight Horse BoyIn the Lamplight and The Last Light Horse into the most compelling theatrical event of our times.

The world premiere of this new work was at Albany’s stunning Princess Royal Theatre at the Albany Entertainment Centre in February, overlooking the same body of water the ships anchored in 108 years ago.

THEATRE 180 evolved from Agelink Theatre, a 25-year success story creating theatre from oral histories founded by Jenny Davis OAM and has added Main Stage theatre and Education pillars to the trajectory into a new and challenging future.
Following three SOLD OUT shows last year with A.B. Facey’s A FORTUNATE LIFE, this CinePlay spectacular from THEATRE 180 is sure to be just as popular with the audiences of the South West.
